Au milieu des ann\u00e9es 80, Bob Pearson a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de mettre sur pied une \u00e9quipe d’arbitres pour r\u00e9pondre aux besoins de la communaut\u00e9 de l’Ouest-de-l’\u00cele. Au d\u00e9part, l’\u00e9quipe \u00e9tait compos\u00e9e de maris et d’amis qui pensaient conna\u00eetre les r\u00e8gles, mais Bob s’est rendu compte qu’il y avait encore beaucoup de choses que son \u00e9quipe devait apprendre.<\/p>\n

Bob a nou\u00e9 des liens avec les dirigeants de Softball Canada et de Softball Qu\u00e9bec, et a suivi des stages pour devenir arbitre de niveau 4, ce qui lui a permis d’arbitrer lors des championnats nationaux. Il s’est tenu au courant des modifications annuelles apport\u00e9es aux r\u00e8gles, des interpr\u00e9tations des arbitres et des exemples tir\u00e9s des recueils de cas.<\/p>\n

l\u2019Association des arbitres de softball de l\u2019Ouest de l\u2019\u00cele (WISUA) est n\u00e9e de sa passion : \u00eatre le meilleur dans son domaine. Bob organisait chaque ann\u00e9e des ateliers pour pr\u00e9senter les nouvelles r\u00e8gles de la saison et passer en revue l’examen d’arbitre avec son \u00e9quipe.<\/p>\n

Cette \u00e9quipe d’arbitres a commenc\u00e9 par une seule ligue et en dessert aujourd’hui 12. Certains arbitres de la WISUA ont offici\u00e9 lors des championnats provinciaux de softball du Qu\u00e9bec, tandis que Bob a offici\u00e9 au niveau national. Bob a mis ses comp\u00e9tences au service de la GMAA en aidant des \u00e9l\u00e8ves du secondaire \u00e0 s’initier \u00e0 ce sport tout en officiant comme arbitre.<\/p>\n
